Three blended intensive programs at Romanian-American University, Bucharest

Greetings from the Romanian-American University, Bucharest! 

We are happy to share with you some brief information about the three blended intensive programs for students that we plan to organize this summer. 

At the same time, we are searching for partners who would like to join RAU in one of these programs (and select students to participate in the programs). 

 

ASTRA-2023: Applied Science and Technology for Real-world Apps – 2023
” AI AND COMPLEXITY FOR GLOBAL POLITICAL DYNAMICS ” 

  • Organizer: School of Computer Science for Business Management 
  • Timeframe: 1 – 9 July 2023 
  • 3 ECTS 
  • Duration: 9 days 
    • Monday – Friday (3 – 7 July), 2 sessions per day (9:30 – 13:00, 14:00 – 16:30) 
    • Saturday / Sunday (1 – 2 July and 8 – 9 July) – cultural activities and free time (trip to Dracula’s Castle or Danube Delta) 
  • Main topics:  
    • Complexity Theory and Complex Adaptive Systems  
    • Agent based modelling and simulations   
    • Machine Learning and artificial intelligence  
    • Competitive and collaborative behaviour  
    • International relations, political science, and political economy 

 

ISSTTA 2023: INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL IN TRAVEL, TOURISM AND AVIATION 

  • Organizer: School of Tourism and Hospitality Management 
  • Timeframe: 29 June – 8 July 2023 – face to face, 17 - 20 July – online 
  • 5 ECTS (for bachelor students) / 6 ECTS (for master students) 
  • Duration: 10 days face to face & 2/4 days online: 
  • 1 week in Bucharest, 3 days at the Black Sea (2 – 5 July), 2/4 days online 
    • Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 14:30 
    • Saturday / Sunday – cultural activities and free time (Peleș and Bran Castels) 
  • Main Activities: 
    • Courses in Aviation, Cruises Industry and Gastronomy 
    • Study visits to OTP Airport (assisting a turnaround flight operations), 5* hotels (Hilton, Marriott, Radisson, TBD) 
    • Simulation games at Tuzla Airport 
    • Sea Survival Training at Tuzla 
    • Organizing and participating at the Air Show Aeromania (TBC) 
    • Extracurricular activities 

 

3CS 2023: CYBER-CRIME & CYBER-SECURITY - Digital Rights & Freedoms 

  • Organizer: School of Law () 
  • Timeframe: 1 – 9 July 2023 
  • 3 ECTS 
  • Duration: 9 days 
    • Monday – Friday (3 – 7 July), 2 sessions per day (9:30 – 13:00, 14:00 – 16:30) 
    • Saturday / Sunday (1 – 2 July and 8 – 9 July) – cultural activities and free time (trip to Dracula’s Castle or Danube Delta) 
  • Main topics:  
    • Individual rights and freedoms in the Internet space (human rights, digital rights, universal rights) 
    • Cybercrime & cyber-security (concepts, modus operandi, and consequences)  
    • Specific types of online illegal actions (crimes, benefits, and trends) 
    • Cybercrimes and their impact on global society (disinformation, violent extremism, cyber-war) 
    • Crypto and anti-money laundering  
    • Vulnerable groups and vulnerabilities (children, religious groups, refugees)
