Accounting and Finance

Students who successfully complete the specialist professional graduate study programme of Accounting and Finance will be able to meet all the requirements needed for the middle and higher level of management in any company or institution.

Starting from the current economic situation and what is expected in the foreseeable future in terms of development in the Split-Dalmatia County and beyond, the proposed specialist professional graduate study programme fully supports current and future needs for financial and accounting experts by training staff - specialists in the field of accounting and finance.

Following the current and future needs of the labour market, this programme - in addition to training students to acquire knowledge and skills in the field of accounting and finance - puts significant emphasis on the acquisition of knowledge in the field of taxation as well. Therefore, it prepares students for this extremely important segment of professional activity. The programme seems to be a desirable addition to the overall offer of similar university and / or specialist professional graduate studies in the Republic of Croatia.

Acquisition of the necessary knowledge, skills and techniques during the specialist professional graduate study programme of Accounting and Finance is based on the curriculum that is primarily adapted to the practical training of students for all jobs in the profession for which they are preparing themselves during their studies.

The necessary component of practical training is acquired during classes as well as through exercises, projects, workshops and seminars and knowledge is largely directly transferred not only by higher education teachers but also by prominent experts in economic practice.

Precisely because of the easier mastery of work techniques and faster involvement of graduates in economic practice and professional performance of jobs for which they are prepared during their studies, specific attention is paid to connecting theory and practice.

Special emphasis is placed on training students to do business in an international environment, i.e., on new dimensions of business that appear in the process of approaching and accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union.
